Eun Ji is a first-year PhD student in the Computational and Cognitive Musicology Lab (CCML) in Music Technology. Her research explores how interpersonal communication unfolds during musical engagement, with a focus on the emotional connections between individuals at the intersection of cognitive science, neuroscience, and musicology. Her master’s thesis investigated empathic accuracy in both socio-emotional and musical contexts using behavioral and EKG data. Currently, she extends her interests by studying brain synchrony (EEG) and shared musical pleasure among music listeners.

Eun Ji holds a BM in Musicology with a minor in Psychology from Seoul National University, and an MS in Culture Technology from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). After completing her master’s degree, she worked as a researcher at the Center for Digital Humanities and Computational Social Sciences at KAIST.

Beyond her academic pursuits, Eun Ji has training in Western classical music composition and plays piano and violin. Drawing on this background, she worked as a freelance screen operator and score reader at the Seoul Arts Center (2020-2023). She also enjoys exploring new musical experiences. She recently began playing drums and performed as a drummer in a student rock band at KAIST.
