Alexey Voronin is a musician, linguist, drummer, metalhead, and music producer. He is particularly interested in exploring the perception and cognition of extreme music, including the cognitive challenges in processing extreme vocal techniques, as well as the complexity of drumlines in metal music. Alexey is currently pursuing a degree in Music Technology at Georgia Tech and is a member of the Computational Cognitive Musicology Lab, where he investigates the intersection of music perception, cognition, and production. Outside of research, Alexey enjoys playing drums, producing music, coding and analyzing the evolution and future of metal as a genre.
