This week, the 24th International Conference on Music Information Retrieval and the 9th International Conference on Digital Libraries for Musicology were hosted in Milan Italy. The Georgia Tech Center for Music Technology shared four papers/presentations/posters at these conferences!
At ISMIR, Nat and Claire presented a paper about our CoCoPops dataset. CoCoPops (is partly) an extension/refinement of the widely used (at ISMIR) McGill Billboard Dataset, and lots of people were very interested in the new data. Two members of the GTCMT’s Music Informatics Group, Yiwei and Ash, also presented work. At DLfM, our recent alum, Rhythm Jain (currently working at Pandora) also co-presented work with Claire on identifying ornamental melodic figures in Hindustani music,
